For some reason, the world is “flooded” with low quality pocket watches. They can be bought at a relative low price, and are hard to sell, most that want or need one has already got one, and most people dont live a life where it is worth 15 days of work to know the exact time, they can just look up into the sky and see the blinks of Sol - God of Hope. |
The low quality version has to be wound every 6 hours, or stop. This means doing it once in your sleep, most often. It will slowly go out of sync. Loosing or gaining 1-10 minutes each day. To function it has to be reset against a known time of sunrise (according to calendar), or synced against a higher quality clock, usually found in town Post-offices.
The low-quality watch also weighs twice the weight of a high-quality one.

A high quality pocket watch, will hold sync for much longer, only loosing/gaining a minute every 30 days. It has to be wound once a day, to not stop.
Low quality watches are often synced against high quality ones, if a stationary one is not available.
They are much rarer than low-quality watches, and are a status symbol among the rich. |
