Platynix have bills, and a thick tail. Their fur is water repellant, and very insulating. In between their claws on their appendages is a single stinger, which can deliver a poison with a puncturing stinger which protrudes from the inside of their wrists. They mate in pairs, the female lays a single fertilized egg through their sewage tract. The Puggles are watched over closely by their parents.

Advancement

  • Ability Score Increases. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.
  • Age. Platynix mature and age rapidly. They are mature at 5, and live to be about 60 years.
  • Alignment. More Platynix are good than evil, but thats about the generalisation that can be made. Platynix have a wide range of worldviews.
  • Size. You are about 3-4 feet. Your size is small.
  • Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 ft. You have a swim speed of 25 ft.
  • Languages. You can read, speak, and write Common and Aquan.
  • Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
  • Poisoned unarmed strike. When attacking unarmed, you may add poison damage equal to 1d6 + Proficiency Bonus. The target must make a Con save against a DC of 8 + Con bonus + the Proficiency Bonus of the Platynix, or become Poisoned for 5 turns. This save must be done once per successful hit. The poison damage increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and 4d6 at 16th level.
  • Sneaky. You are proficient in the Stealth skill.
  • Immunity to disease. Platynix’ are immune to most non-magical diseases.
  • Electrolocation. In addition to normal sight, you have Blindsight when submerged in water. At level 1 this has a range of 15ft. The range increases to 30ft. at character-level 10.
  • Hold breath. You can hold your breath for long periods of time. If active you need to take a breath of air every 15 minutes, to avoid drowning. If you stay motionless, you can stay under water for about one hour without emerging for air. This also applies to other situations where you would want to hold your breath.
  • Water doesn’t bother me. Being wet or cold does not affect you. Any damage stemming from magical use of water does half damage to you. Any extra exhaustion levels from being cold or wet, are not incurred.
  • Cold and Poison Resistance. Adapted to the frigid oceans, you have resistance to cold damage. You carry your own poison, and are naturally resistant to other potions.
  • Insectivore. If there is a source of insects or similar, the Platynix does not need to consume rations in addition to eating found food.
