Trollkin Male Barbarian

The Trollkin are larger and burlier than most of the other sentient races. Their skin is that of rough rock or bark.

Their travel from naive to bitter, as they move through life, is more extreme than many races. They often start out thinking anything is possible, but then are fast to judge others after having that dream burst a few times. They treasure loyalty and friendship above much else.

They originate from the mountain-range behind Prinberg, which houses the highest percentage of town-dwelling Trollkin amongst the worlds cities. Many Trollkin live outside towns and cities, however. Fighting for their own enclaves survival in a harsh world. Their race was discovered during the Night Century, when large groups of the sentient races started retreating into cave systems and the like for safety. The Trollkin befriended the newcomers, and some Trollkin came along when the Night Century came to an end.

Advancement

  • Ability Score Increases. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
  • Age. Trollkin mature and age slowly. They are mature at 15, but can live to be 400 years. Their physical attributes mature faster than their mental state however. And many can stay quite naive and hopeful until they start souring around 200-300 years of age.
  • Alignment. Trollkin tend to not be evil. They act lawfully amongst their own, but have a troubled history of being subjucated, and are fast to rebel if something seems unfair.
  • Size. You are larger than humans about 6-8 feet. Your size is medium.
  • Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 ft.
  • Languages. You can read, speak, and write Common and Terran.
  • Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.
  • Horns. You may have horns that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with them, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier piercing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.
  • Relentless Endurance. When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
  • Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
  • Primal Intuition. You have proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Insight, Intimidation, Medicine, Nature, Perception, and Survival.
  • Trollkin Calm. You cannot be charmed or frightened.
  • Natural Armour. You have thick, leathery skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
