Presence on the Ethereal plane
Some people who claim to have stepped into the Ethereal Plane claim to have met twins that lead them places. Many believe that the Septluc are awake, in the material plane and are even more powerful there.
Description
The Septluc, the Seven Sleepers are 7 twins who sleep in a magically locked cave close to Clavern. Anyone who tries to approach them falls asleep, even elves fall unconscious. Visitors are usually attached to rope and pulled out again after a set amount of time (for a price, the price goes up the longer you stay in the cave.) Because of this, no one as been able to come close to the actual sleepers.
The dreams followers have in the cave are very vivid, they are interpreted as indulging the visitors deepest wishes, or showing them glimpses of their future.
Many make pilgrimages here, especially the sleep deprived, or the deeply miserable, who would settle with experiencing something in a dream…
The sleepers are symbols of peace, of tranquility. They are rumoured to shepard the rest of the world in and out of their dreams. They were discovered like this, around the year 500. In a time in the world where there weren’t many humans yet… They look almost identical to each other, many speculating that they are twins.
Aspects
Septluc will never present themselves clearly on the material plane, it is usually left to interpretation and faith. Believers claim to have been visited by The Sleepers if they experience Deja Vu, or see repeating patterns in reality, that seem unreal. “Sleepers wake me!” is akin to “Someone pinch me!”, in that “something unbelievable has happened, I must be dreaming.”
Worshipers
Dogma
Followers will offer a prayer when about to fall asleep, usually for the night to be safe, for nightmares to stay away. In the morning, before getting out of bed, a prayer is offered as thanks for the night being safe, that the follower is looking forward to the next night’s sleep.
Their sleep-talk and snoring is interpreted by priests, and this is portrayed as “their will”. Their mumblings not easily understood by “the untrained ear”.s
Holy days
The Awakening - 20th of Zorthu
A celebration of the coming spring, the days are growing brighter. There is a great line outside the sleeper’s cave this day, as they are offered extra prayers this day, and it is believed that this is the day they listen the most.
