Half-elves are a result of an elf having a child with any other race than an elf or an archelf. You therefore have one Elven parent.
Most half-elves are not highly valued by their elven parent, and many half-elves are disillusioned with their elven heritage, after a history of forfather exploitation on Zarth. To avoid many of the elves in the forests and in the cities, many half-elves prefer middle sized towns to small settlements, finding camaraderie from other races.
